Di studied textiles in London and South West England selling her creative woven wall hangings to commission. With her love of texture her work has now evolved to free form sensuous scarves.
Nuno felting comprises fine merino wool stands passing through sheer fabric. To this process Di adds fibres that would normally be discarded such as thread and trimmings. These materials are scattered onto silk and dictate their own characteristics. They are trapped between the wool and silk which fixes them into position. The scarves are worked both sides to achieve a tactile flowing design. The build-up of texture and colour produces an original and attractive art form.
